A philanthropist Noeline Haylett and friends are about to rewrite the story of four communities in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region by providing potable drinking water for residents of the area to end years of unwholesome use of water from ponds and other sources.

These communities include Bedikope, Ahufeto, Gbegbekope and Hanyirakope located in the Ehi area of the Ketu North district in the Volta Region.

Speaking to businessweekghana.com, the project partner of Noeline Haylett, Derick Botsyoe, explains that, the philanthropist and her friends have built over twenty-two boreholes in the country, after the request from the chief of Bedekofe came in; the team raised the necessary resources to drill two boreholes with hand pumps in the area for the use of the four aforementioned communities.

He said it was also in memory of Richard Kudedzi, a man that has supported the humanitarian works of Mama Noeline over the years in the Volta Region who died few months ago.

“Mama Noeline understands the plight of the Ghanaian woman and always ready to support them. Women travel long distances to get water for their family use and these water sources are not good enough for human consumption, and that is why it is important to get boreholes in these communities to lessen the burden of the women and promote good health among residents in those communities,” he noted.
