Gov’t approve measures to mitigate cedi depreciation, inflation

President Nana Akufo-Addo has approved a number of far-reaching measures aimed at bringing relief to Ghanaians.
Some of the measures include mitigating the depreciation of the cedi, ensuring expenditure discipline, providing relief in the face of global fuel price hikes and inflation as government take these decisions to ensure its priority programs meant to grow the economy are protected.

These are some of the steps taken by government at the first quarterly retreat held by Cabinet at Peduase Lodge at Aburi in the Eastern Region as outlined by the Ministry of Information in a statement issued Monday, March 21, 2022.
In addition to the scheduled appraisal of the performance of Government programs, Cabinet has also extensively discussed the impact of global economic difficulties on Ghana and the Ghanaian people.
Meanwhile, the Finance Minister is expected to provide details on the measures taken so far this week after consultations with key social and economic stakeholder.
