Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has beckoned the private sector to invest with unfliching confidence, assuring that government will resolutely safeguard and consolidate the significant strides made in restoring macroeconomic stability.
He gave the assurance during a strategic engagement with the leadership of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and distinguished captains of industry.
Dr. Forson disclosed that government’s comprehensive blueprint for economic transformation will be formally outdoored in the 2027 Budget.
Feel free to invest because we will sustain the gains. The golden era for Ghana is beginning, and our new blueprint will be announced in the 2027 Budget,” he said.
He stressed that the remarkable turnaround in the macroeconomic landscape will not only be preserved but assiduously enhanced.
That is why the 2027 Budget will move Ghana from stability to transformation,” he stated.
The Finance Minister further revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has already committed to channeling US$10 billion into strategic and catalytic sectors of the economy over the next four years.
We want to produce more, add value and create more jobs for the Ghanaian economy. This means addressing the fundamental challenges we face as a country,” he said.
He noted that government has intentionally orchestrated a reduction in the cost of capital and will relentlessly pursue additional measures to compress it further to catalyze business expansion and investment.
Dr. Forson also implored industry to rally behind domestic revenue mobilization efforts to wean government off unsustainable borrowing.
“We need your support to raise the necessary revenue so that the Government does not borrow beyond its means, as we saw in 2022,” he said.
