The Chief Executive Officer of Maglans Micro-Credit Enterprise, Lanslord Asumakah, has emerged as the Credit Professional of the Year-2024 at the just-ended 5th Ghana Credit Excellence Awards (GCEAs).
The prestigious award recognises Asumakah’s outstanding contributions to the Credit Industry and his leadership in Micro-Credit Enterprise.
The Ghana Credit Excellence Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, Ghana (CICMG), celebrates excellence in the financial sector.
The event honours top banks and financial institutions competing for awards.
Asumakah was honoured at the awards ceremony held on September 5, 2024. He is a distinguished fellow of the African Institute of Public Administration (AIPA-Ghana), a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management Ghana (CICM-GH), and associate member of the Chartered Institute of Tax Law and forensic accountants Ghana (CITLFA-GH).
He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PgCMgt) from the London Bridge Business School, LBBS-UK, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from Ghana Baptist University, Executive Certificate in Business Administration from Accra Business School, Diploma in Commerce (Accounting) from University of Cape Coast, and is currently pursuing an MBA in management with Liverpool John Moores University and MSc in Microfinance with University of Cape Coast.
Speaking to journalists, Asumakah expressed his gratitude and humility upon receiving the award.
I am truly honoured and humbled to receive this award. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team members at Maglans Micro-Credit Enterprise, and I share this award with each of them,” he said.
Asumakah emphasised the importance of micro-credit enterprises supporting small businesses and individuals.
This award will motivate me to continue working towards making credit enterprise more accessible and affordable for those who need it most. I am committed to continuing to innovate and improve our services to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Asumakah added.
Under Asumakah’s leadership, Maglans Micro-Credit Enterprise has made significant strides in providing accessible and affordable credit services. His innovative approach and commitment to customer satisfaction have set a high standard for the industry.
Other awards presented at the ceremony included: Bank of the Year, SME Bank of the Year, Trade Finance Bank of the Year, Rural Bank of the Year, and MSME Rural & Community Bank Brand of the Year.
The rest were Most Promising Rural Bank of the Year, Savings & Loan of the Year, SME Savings & Loans Brand of the Year, and Microfinance of the Year.
The GCEAs recognises and rewards outstanding performance and innovation in the financial sector.
