He further explained that the television station would not only project a positive image of the Service but also provide a platform for inmate education and staff development. She noted that the initiative would help the public see the Prisons Service in a new light.
For too long, the public has viewed the Prisons Service through narrow lens,” she said. “This initiative will change this, and Prudential Bank’s partnership will help us bring our vision to life. The Ghana Prisons Television Station will help tell our story, highlight our reforms, and educate the public. It will also create awareness about the work we do in preparing inmates to return to society as responsible citizens,” she noted.
The “Think Prisons 360” Initiative is a groundbreaking project aimed at transforming public perception about the Prisons Service. A key component of this initiative is the establishment of the Ghana Prisons Service Television Station.
The station will serve as a channel to showcase rehabilitation programmes, vocational training, and success stories of inmates. It will also educate the public on crime prevention and the challenges former inmates face in reintegrating into society.
