Nature was kind to me, as if the universe knew I needed a good night’s rest. I managed to sleep for about 8 hours.

It rained all night and was still raining at 6:30 am. I hoped the tour guide would call off the day’s hike so I could get more rest. But at 7:30 am, we met for breakfast and got briefed on the day’s activities. Sadly, the rain stopped, and everyone geared up for the hike.

We were told it would be longer and more challenging than the previous day’s hike. We hiked for 8 hours and 41 minutes, reaching an altitude of 3,153 meters.

Don Milla For the first time, we saw Mount Elbrus. Its massive, snowy peak was both awe-inspiring and intimidating. I questioned why I was in Russia and who had sent me on this expedition. The views were breathtaking, even though the hike was tough and unforgiving.

After we returned, the team met for debriefing and had dinner. Nancy and Akin felt pain in their legs, while I had severe pain in my feet from the hiking boots.

We went to the local market to get some supplies, which was challenging and intriguing since we didn’t speak Russian. Despite the hardships, today was a day of overcoming fears and pushing limits, making me proud to be part of this adventure.
