According to reports, Dzokoto was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa after he suddenly became unwell during the programme but was pronounced dead on arrival.
His death was confirmed by a source close to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), although further details surrounding the circumstances of the incident and the medical cause of death had not been officially established at the time of reporting.
Dzokoto was widely known for his role in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura and as the presenter of Edziban, a TV3 programme that explored Ghanaian cuisine, local food joints and culinary traditions.
From entertainment to politics
Beyond his career in entertainment and broadcasting, Dzokoto was actively involved in partisan politics as a member of the NDC.
He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the party’s ticket in the 2016 general elections but did not win the seat.
His career also included radio broadcasting, with reports indicating that he worked with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi. His work across television, radio and comedy made him a familiar personality among Ghanaian audiences.
Recent health concerns
Dzokoto had spoken publicly about his health in September 2026 after speculation about his condition circulated on social media. Reports at the time indicated that he was recovering from surgery performed abroad.
However, no official medical statement had established a link between his previous health concerns and the reported collapse on Thursday.
Further details regarding the incident, including statements from his family and funeral arrangements, were yet to be announced at the time of reporting.
