Worker’s Day: My 24-hour Economic Policy will empower the Ghanaian Workforce – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated his call for Ghanaians to embrace his 24-hour Economy flagship policy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He insists the 24-hour economic model will diversify and empower the Ghanaian workforce.

In a statement marking the day, Former President Mahama acknowledged the tireless contributions and dedications of the Ghanaian Worker to national development and progress.

Presiden Mahama noted that the celebration themed “Election 2024: The role of workers and social partners in securing peaceful elections for national development” underscores the need for maintaining fair and peaceful elections which is not only a duty but a shared responsibility essential for national stability and prosperity.

He however, lamented the challenges confronting the country due to economic mismanagement, incompetence and institutionalised corruption of the Akufo- Addo-led administration.

“However, today’s celebration is tempered by our country’s severe challenges because of poor governance, incompetence, economic mismanagement, and institutionalised corruption under the current administration,” he stated.

“Never in our history has a democratically elected government taken a wrecking ball to our economy with such ferocity,” he added.

He assured that with the experience drawn from navigating very crucial challenges during his tenure as President, he is prepared to work with the Ghanaian people to commence vital repair works needed to put the country back on the path of progress and growth.

Former President Mahama pointed out that the 24-hour economy policy has been designed to generate sustainable and decent job opportunities that promotes growth and prosperity for all persons.

“A central element of my vision for Ghana’s recovery is the implementation of a 24-hour economy. This initiative is designed to generate sustainable, decent job opportunities and promote growth and prosperity for everyone.”

“Adopting a 24-hour economic model will diversify our economy and empower our workforce,” he added.

He has therefore called on all Ghanaians to support the transformative vision, which promises to revitalise the job market and foster long-term sustainable development.

The NDC flagbearer reminded Ghanaians that the election on December 7 offer the country a pivotal opportunity to alter the current trajectory and set a new course for the country.
