University Primary School, now known as University Basic School, is marking a major milestone – 70 years of providing quality education and shaping young minds.
Established in 1955, the school has remained committed to academic excellence and nation-building, producing individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions to Ghana’s development.
To commemorate this achievement, the school is hosting a series of events, starting with the launch of its 70th-anniversary celebrations on Saturday, November 22nd, at the school’s forecourt. The event will be graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, along with other distinguished guests.
The theme for the celebrations is “Nurturing Minds, Shaping Ghana’s Future.” The school’s commitment to academic excellence and nation-building is reflected in its plans for the anniversary year, which include a Teach a Class program, Alumni Health Walk and Intersection Games, Academic Seminars, a Drama and Dinner Night, an Anniversary Durbar, and a Thanksgiving Service.
These events aim to bring together alumni, students, teachers, and the broader community to celebrate the school’s achievements and reflect on its role in shaping Ghana’s future.
