Political Communication Archives is a free website for followers of Ghanaian politics and political communication, in whatever form. It provides an up-to-date list of all political communication materials including posters, banners, flyers, audio visuals among others from all the political parties in the country.

This project begins from the 2020 general election with a mission of Collating campaign materials throughout the electoral cycle of Ghanaian political history.

Dr. Kobby Mensah, a political communication lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the brain behind PC Archives, explained that during one of his lectures on political communication, there was limited material to fall on and that was when he conceived the idea to create a hub where all political communication materials will be kept for future references.

Due to this challenge I spoke to a few of my students and we came together to bring life to this initiative to present a universal repository for political communication and political campaigning in Ghana,” he stressed.

He added that individuals especially political communication students who for one reason or other missed an election period can re-live the experience when they visit the site.

It will also make teaching and learning easy as the site will document all political communication materials for both academic and research purposes,” he added.

During the post electoral analysis of the 2020 general elections, it was realized that the NPP had a total of 26 adverts that featured minors. 90% of the adverts also focused on the Free Senior High School policy.

The report therefore recommended that the Advertiser Association of Ghana should modify the advertising guidelines to compel political parties to hide the identities of minors used in political campaigns since their exposure could be detrimental.

A Senior Fellow at the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), Dr Kwesi Jonah welcome the initiative and congratulated Dr. Mensah and his team.
