A seven-member delegation comprising executives of the Global Alumni of the African University of Communication and Business (AUCB) and members of the planning committee for the upcoming Alumni Meet and Greet event has paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Chancellor of the university, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr.
The visit on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, served to formally introduce the alumni leadership to the new Chancellor, pledge their support for his administration, and extend an invitation to him to serve as Guest Speaker at the forthcoming alumni event.
Speaking at the meeting, President of the Global Alumni, Dr. David Olaga, described the occasion as a heartfelt moment for the AUCB community.
“This meeting is not just a courtesy call—it is a heartfelt gesture to welcome you into the seat as the Chancellor of our great institution and to express our willingness to work with you in diverse ways to move the institution forward,” Dr. Olaga stated.
He expressed optimism about Mr. Adu’s leadership and the transformational impact it could bring to the university.
“We are confident that your tenure will mark a new era of excellence and innovation for AUCB. This meeting symbolizes not only our support but also our eagerness to walk with you as partners in progress,” he added.
Dr. Olaga reaffirmed the commitment of AUCB alumni to actively contribute to the university’s advancement.
“As alumni, we remain proud ambassadors of AUCB. The knowledge, discipline, and vision instilled in us during our time in the school continue to shape our personal and professional journeys. We look forward to collaborating with you to create meaningful opportunities for current students and future graduates.”
He emphasized the group’s dedication to fostering mentorship, enhancing alumni involvement, and supporting the university’s mission of producing globally competitive graduates.
In his response, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr.—a respected banker, financial expert, and educationist—thanked the alumni for their visit and support.
“As someone who has spent a lifetime in the financial sector, I understand the critical importance of sound education, ethical leadership, and forward-thinking innovation—values I believe AUCB embodies,” he said.
He pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to strengthen AUCB’s role in African development.
“I believe AUCB has a vital role to play in shaping Africa’s next generation of business and communication leaders. I am committed to working with the alumni, faculty, and students to build a university that not only educates but also empowers.”
The upcoming AUCB Alumni Meet and Greet event, scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM on the AUCB Adabraka Campus, is expected to bring together former students, faculty, and friends of the university to celebrate their shared legacy and foster stronger partnerships for institutional growth.
