The Youth Forum of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially declared its support for Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah. This was after fierce deliberations and consultations of some party stalwarts, which lasted several days.

According to a statement issued in Accra and signed by the Secretary to the Forum, Osman Iddrisu Banpuori, “the forum is imbibed with his strategy, charisma, and committed to service for the party as well as his enviable vision that seeks to pull all party members along which we hope would give our great party a resounding victory come 2024.”

“In preparations into the 2024 election, the party needs a GENERAL SECRETARY that people can rally behind, approach and rely on to deliver victory for this great party and we are convinced beyond every reasonable doubt that Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has these pedigrees to soldier the party into victory.

The Youth Forum is convinced that Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has the impeccable track records to become the next NDC chief scribe.

With what we know you are capable of doing, we have at the back of our minds that it would be a one touch victory if you are finally voted into office” the statement said.

It is undeniable fact that the teaming youths and supporters of the party are yearning for the kind of change and leadership that the party requires to shape the original principles and values that would usher us into victory come 2024.

“As we speak, there are so many disgruntled cadres, sympathisers, well-wishers, supporters, and members, which we need to unite as a party in order to remain focused and resolute towards the 2024 elections.

We are aware that there are so many bitterness, backbiting and acrimony within the party and if we are not united it may affect the fortunes of our party going into the 2024 general elections and which is why we are convinced that with your good human relationship skills, hope, trust and confidence would return to NDC leadership” it said.

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP), with its staphylococcus, streptococcus, obnoxious and family and friends policies has plugged the country into a big ditch. The cedi is currently having “unstoppable diarrhea” depreciation to the dollar, inflation is skyrocketing, interest rates are becoming unbearable to businesses, our import bills have kept rising, our reserves have totally been depleted, businesses are folding up leading to a sharp rise in our unemployment figures, our debt to Gross Domestic Product, (GDP) has crossed the HIPC threshold.

“With all these economic problems, it will take a strong and united leadership to win power and take the country from this mess. It is for this reason that we have declared our unflinching support for Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and urge all the delegates to vote for him, so with our collective concerted effort, he can lead us to victory come 2024, and also return the economy back to a recovery path.
