MTN Ghana CEO, Stephen Blewett, paid a courtesy visit to the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Honourable Ronald Lamola on the sidelines of the 45th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council, in Accra.
During the visit, Minister Lamola commended MTN on its significant investments and commitment to Ghana, urging the company to continue supporting the country’s socio-economic development through digital solutions and programmes.
He also praised the work of the MTN Foundation and Y’ello Care initiatives.
As MTN celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, the company remains dedicated to empowering Ghanaian youth, bridging the digital divide, and driving sustainable development.
This commitment instills hope and optimism for a brighter future.
The meeting highlights MTN’s dedication to fostering partnerships and collaborations that promote economic growth and development in Ghana and beyond.
Stephen Blewett became the CEO of MTN Ghana about a year ago, and has been leading the company’s efforts to expand digital inclusion, promote financial inclusion, and support Ghana’s economic development as well as ensuring the growth and development of the company.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of MTN Ghana, Blewett held various leadership roles within the MTN Group, including CEO of MTN Benin and CEO of MTN Rwanda. He has also worked in various capacities in the telecommunications industry, including as a consultant and a regulator.
Blewett has a strong passion for digital transformation and its potential to drive economic growth and social development.
AU Executive Council Meeting
Delegates from across Africa convened in Accra on last Thursday for the 45th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) executive council.
The meeting, which run until July 21, aimed to assess progress on the continent’s integration agenda and chart a path for building resilient education systems.
