Learners of Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf Fed By OGS Foundation

Learners and staff of the Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf had a great time on Friday with sumptuous meals prepared with food items donated by the Omini Global Solution Foundation (OGS Foundation) – a Non-governmental Organization (NGO).

The excitement on the faces of the learners during the feast was a clear indication of gratitude and appreciation from the learners to the donors for supporting part of their feeding needs, among other donations.

Headmaster of the School, Mr Isaac Arthur told GhanaNewsTV in an interview that the donation has cushioned the nutrition content of the learners and they are grateful.

On Thursday, August 17, 2023, the OGS Foundation of USA donated food items, toiletries and cash to the Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf to enhance proper promotion of the healthcare and wellbeing of learners and teachers of the school.

A daughter of the founding father of the school, Jonelle Tetteh Ocloo, who spoke on behalf of the OGS Foundation said last year during the 90th birthday celebration of her father – Dr. Seth Tetteh Ocloo, they realized some teething needs of the school and pledged to support them.

She said it was this that informed the registration of the OGS Foundation as a charity in the United State of America to support persons with disability in Ghana.“We are committed to the wellbeing and proper education of the deaf in Ghana,” she noted

She praised Mr. John Day – an employee of the Boeing Corporation, America, for his generous donation while extending appreciation to the over thirty other donors who have supported the philanthropic gesture of the Foundation over the period.

According to her, the Boeing Cooperation for instance promised to match any amount donated by John Day, and they truly delivered on this promise to the admiration of the Foundation.

Madam Jonelle Tetteh Ocloo also revealed that, last year, the Foundation with collaboration from the Ga-Dangme Association of Carolinas supported the school’s clinic with some medications to ensure that staff and learners continue to live in good health at all times.

She further affirmed the commitment of her family, especially her mother, Mrs Elizabeth Tetteh Ocloo who was also the first headmistress of the school to improving the total wellbeing of staff and learners of the school.
