KLM has resumed its Accra bound flights starting from September 8, 2020, with four flights a week.

In a notice to its customers, the airline said “We resumed our flights between Accra and Amsterdam with 4 flights a week. From 8 September, fly via Amsterdam to an increasing number of European and intercontinental destinations.”

For over a hundred years it’s been our passion to fly you to the most beautiful places in the world. However, for the past couple of months, we were not able fly you everywhere. Step by step, we’re resuming our flights to an increasing number of destinations to make sure we can safely fly you across the world,” the notice stated.

The airline, however, cautioned its customers to check the current situation and entry requirements for the country they intend to visit. “Consult the local government’s website and this website for the latest travel regulations,” it advised.

We’ve taken various measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and protect our customers and crew at KLM lounges, boarding areas and on board of our aircraft,” the airline assured.

It further advised that before boarding flights, health scans may apply by local authorities upon departure and arrival. This, however, varies per country and airport. “Once you enter the boarding area and our aircraft, you’re required to wear a face mask that covers nose and mouth. Make sure to bring enough masks with you to last the entire flight”.

During the flight, the air in our aircraft is continually renewed with fresh air drawn in from outside. Our aircraft are equipped with an air filtration system consisting of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters which capture 99,99% of viruses and bacteria, including coronaviruses,” it assured.
