The Shai-Osudoku District celebrated its cherished Ngmayem festival with a grand durbar, bringing together traditional leaders, government officials, and the community in a showcase of unity and cultural identity.
The celebration, held in Dodowa, was marked by a strong presence of government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debi, the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, and the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ignatius Godfred Dordoe.
The festival served as a platform for the government to reconnect with the people, listen to their concerns, and reaffirm its commitment to addressing their needs. Hon. Ocloo highlighted key projects set to commence, including the construction of modern schools, a bus terminal, and healthcare facilities.
Our government is committed to transforming the district through the Big Push initiative and other development frameworks,” she stated.
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, lauded the people of Shai-Osudoku for their rich cultural heritage and appreciation of the appointments made by the President from Shai-Osudoku. He assured the gathering that he would work hand-in-hand with the Regional Minister and the DCE to ensure that all government-promised projects in the district are fulfilled.
The government also demonstrated its commitment to the district’s development with a donation of ₵150,000 to the Shai Traditional Council, and an additional ₵100,000. Hon. Ocloo also fulfilled her earlier promise by donating two brand new buses to the two traditional areas within the district, symbolizing government’s respect for traditional authority and its dedication to supporting cultural and administrative mobility.
The 2025 Ngmayem Festival was a celebration of progress and partnership, reaffirming the district’s commitment to unity, culture, and sustainable development.
