Ghana Highway Authority has noted that a news story, “Akufo-Addo cuts sod for Kwame-Danso road, work to start after 7 months”, published by the Ghanaweb.com is misleading.
In a press release, the Authority said the story published by Ghanaweb.com news portal on Wednesday 9th September, 2020 is “misleading and not a true reflection of the status of the said Project”.

According to the Authority works commenced on the Atebubu-Kwame Danso Kwadwokrom road project in April 2020 and it is expected to be completed by October 2022. The formal sod-cutting ceremony was performed by H.E Nana Addo DankwaAkufo Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, on Tuesday, 8th September, 2020 in Atebubu.
It is important to note that as at the time of the sod-cutting ceremony, the contractor was on site and 15Km of the 35km stretch was almost ready for primer sealing (bituminous surfacing),” the release stated.
GHA further noted that although Ghanaweb.com has corrected their earlier misleading headline and story, other websites and individuals continue to circulate the inaccurate story. The general public is hereby encouraged to disregard such circulation and publication.
