Ghanaian-owned curation company Excellent Curator has officially launched the inaugural South African edition of its flagship event, Her Portion is Honour, in Cape Town, affectionately known as the Mother City.
The Mother’s Day celebration, held on May 10, 2026, served as a powerful reminder for children and families to value, cherish, and celebrate the mothers and maternal figures in their lives.
The event brought together diverse women from around the world. As part of the celebration, the organization distributed specially curated cards featuring heartfelt messages alongside thoughtful gifts.
Speaking at the launch, Princess Arita Anim, Founder of Excellent Curator, expressed her sincere gratitude to God for the opportunity to honour women in such a meaningful way.
“As a curation company, we specialize in travel, lifestyle, and events, designing bespoke itineraries for individual, group, and corporate travel, while also planning impactful event concepts. The Lord truly placed it on our hearts to independently put this event together,” she said.
Elaborating on the purpose of the gathering, Princess Arita Anim, called the launch a divine assignment. “This is the first of its kind—bringing women and mothers together to celebrate them as Scripture instructs in Proverbs 31:31. We are called to publicly honour the fruit of their hands. A mother might have only given what she had, but that doesn’t make it any less real. Her worth isn’t measured by how much she had, but by how faithfully she used it. Proverbs 31:31 tells us to recognize and honour what she actually produced,” she said.
According to her, this is God’s move to inspire daughters, children, mentees, and husbands to appreciate this context and fulfill all righteousness.
Explaining the choice of location, Princess Arita Anim highlighted the deep symbolic link to Cape Town.
“We chose Cape Town for the launch because it is the Mother City. We often call Cape Town the ‘Mother City’ because it is a place of undeniable beauty, but it is also a place with deep social hurts that need healing. Today, we realize that a true mother doesn’t just celebrate the beautiful parts; she rolls up her sleeves to nurture, comfort, and unite the broken parts. Today, we honour our mothers who do exactly that in our families and our world.”
Looking ahead, the organization revealed that Her Portion is Honour is set to become an annual global event. Every Mother’s Day, Excellent Curator will select different cities and countries around the world to host the celebration, spreading the message of love and honour across borders.
