In a Facebook post addressed to Ghana, Queiroz said football, like life, teaches the lesson that “you either win or you learn,” adding that he leaves with pride in the progress made but also a sense of “healthy dissatisfaction” and the belief that more could have been achieved.
I leave this journey with pride in what we achieved, but also with the healthy dissatisfaction of those who always wanted more,” he said. “Reaching a higher level should never be the destination—it should be the beginning of even greater ambitions.”
Queiroz stressed that the future success of the team would depend not only on on-field performance but also on strong institutional support and preparation structures.
The future of the Black Stars will not be built only on the pitch. Black Stars success must start off the field, by creating the best possible environment to prepare, protect and develop Ghana’s extraordinary football talent,” he wrote.
Queiroz expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the opportunity to manage the national team. “To my President and Board, thank you so much for the opportunity to serve the Ghana National Football Team. It was an honour and privilege to serve the country and the Black Stars,” he said.
He also praised the players and technical staff for their commitment and dedication during his tenure. “To my players and staff, my deepest gratitude for your courage, commitment and unwavering dedication to the team,” he added.
Turning to supporters, Queiroz acknowledged that the team did not achieve full sporting satisfaction but insisted that progress had been made in restoring respect for the Black Stars on the global stage.
To the fans, we cannot claim complete sporting satisfaction, but we can proudly say that we honoured the colours of Ghana and restored respect and credibility to the Black Stars on football’s greatest stage,” he said.
He concluded with a message of hope for the future, saying: “Thank you, Ghana. The journey starts now. To the future.”
Queiroz was unveiled on Thursday, April 23, 2026, by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, following the departure of Otto Addo, and was tasked with leading the Black Stars to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Adams, Ghana’s agreement with the Portuguese tactician was for a short-term arrangement tied to the tournament.
The condition Ghana agreed was that we were going for a short-term contract, maximum four months, for the period of the World Cup, but the performance would determine any further agreement,” the Minister explained
However, Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign has come to a disappointing end after a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the Round of 32.

The outreach programme, held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, provided free eye screening, basic healthcare services, school kits, and hot meals to children between the ages of one and 17. For many of the beneficiaries, the event marked their first-ever opportunity to undergo an eye examination.
Medical professionals conducted comprehensive eye screenings and general health checks, referring cases that required further medical attention. In addition to the healthcare services, the children received school kits containing essential stationery and were treated to hot meals in an atmosphere enlivened by music and games.
The “Make a Child Smile” initiative began in January 2024 as a personal birthday outreach and has since evolved into an annual flagship programme of the Hope In Sight Foundation.
Hope In Sight Foundation is a humanitarian, non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the vision and overall wellbeing of vulnerable children, particularly in underserved communities. With a strong focus on eye care and community health outreach, the foundation seeks to bridge gaps in access to essential medical services, especially for preventable and treatable eye conditions that often go undetected.
The foundation provides free eye care services, including vision screening, basic eye examinations, and referrals for advanced treatment when necessary. By taking these services directly into communities, it ensures that children who may be excluded due to financial or geographical barriers receive timely care that can significantly improve their quality of life.
Beyond eye care, the foundation integrates broader community health education into its outreach programmes, creating awareness on hygiene, preventive care, and the importance of early detection of eye and health-related challenges. Parents, teachers, and caregivers are also engaged as part of these efforts.
The organisation was founded by Adjoa Obuo Duodu, whose personal experience with high myopia inspired the foundation’s mission. She has often spoken about the emotional, academic, and social impact untreated vision problems can have on children.
According to her, poor vision in childhood not only affects sight but also undermines confidence, limits learning potential, and narrows future opportunities. This understanding continues to shape the foundation’s emphasis on early intervention and compassionate care as tools for long-term empowerment.
The 2026 outreach was attended by members of the foundation’s board, volunteers, medical personnel, and friends of the organisation, who supported the smooth execution of the programme and engaged with children and families throughout the day.
Speaking on the motivation behind the initiative, Ms Duodu described the outreach as deeply personal.
“Growing up with high myopia myself, I understand how untreated vision challenges can affect a child’s confidence, learning, and future. This outreach is about giving children the chance to see clearly and dream boldly,” she said.
Community leaders in Chwinto welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. They noted that access to preventive eye care and early health interventions is critical to improving children’s academic performance, confidence, and overall wellbeing in underserved communities.
The outreach was delivered with support from corporate and individual partners. Fidelity Bank Ghana partnered the programme as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, while Peeva Beverages provided refreshments. Individual donors and volunteers also contributed to the success of the event.

QNET has intensified its deliberate fight against scams by opening a Compliance office in Ghana to address the pertinent issue of scammers that are misusing its brand name to deceive unsuspecting Ghanaians.
The Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department, DCOP Lydia Donkor officially declared the office open when she said: “This office launch is very symbolic. QNET is taking steps to ensure their business name or legitimacy is not marred by reports of scams and illegal claims using their name. As law enforcement, we are also pleased that today’s opening is quite significant, because we will be able to partner with them or they partner with us to ensure that the right thing is done.”
She continued: “It is good for QNET to have this symbolic office so that if people need to know something about QNET, this is a legitimate business they can come to. Having this office will help, so that we can weed out people who take advantage of their (QNET) name to do illegal things or scam people. It is time we reduce these scams that are happening within our country and outside. So, on this day, we are pleased to have their executives here. The office is operational, the business is open and people can identify with it when they need to.”
QNET stated the commitments the Compliance office is programmed to achieve as follow:
Ramya Chandrasekaran, Chief Communications Officer for the QI group, parent-company of QNET, Biram Fall, Regional General Manager for QNET in the sub-Saharan Africa region, Col (rtd) Rashid Salifu, Managing Director of Bosumtwi Industries and QNET Training Centre in Ghana, Lawyer Naana Quartey, Global Compliance Officer for QNET were present at the event.
Earlier on Tuesday 15th July, 2025, QNET officially announced a strategic collaboration with EOCO in a press conference graced by the acting Executive Director of EOCO, Mr. Raymond Archer, who pledged his support for QNET’s intensified fight against scams and misrepresentation of its brand in Ghana.
QNET’s collaboration with EOCO will:

]]>
Joining Forces to Protect the Public
This collaboration reflects the shared concern of both EOCO and QNET over the deceptive practices of criminal syndicates who use fake job offers, scholarship scams, and false promises of international opportunities to exploit Ghanaians and other West Africans. These scams often misuse the names of legitimate international companies to lend credibility to their operations and deceive unsuspecting victims.
“EOCO and QNET have signed an MOU to collaborate to identify and dismantle these criminal networks. We appreciate QNET’s proactive stance and willingness to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to protect the public as well as their brand,” said Raymond Archer, Acting Executive Director of EOCO. “This partnership is a significant step towards combating organised and cross-border crime in Ghana. Through this partnership QNET and EOCO are seeking to leverage our expertise and resources to disrupt and dismantle these criminal networks, protect our citizens and maintain the integrity of our economy.”
Key Objectives of the Collaboration
Under the MoU, QNET and EOCO will work together to:
An Alliance Rooted in Responsibility
This partnership represents a shared commitment to safeguarding individuals and communities from exploitation. It builds on QNET’s ongoing efforts to support law enforcement agencies and community education, and EOCO’s mandate to investigate and prosecute organised crime.
“This collaboration with EOCO is timely, as QNET is about to open our new compliance office in Ghana which will serve as a touchpoint for all regulatory and security agencies,” said Biram Fall, Regional General Manager of QNET in Sub-Saharan Africa. “This partnership is not about protecting a brand—it is about protecting people. Fraudsters have hijacked the names of reputable companies to exploit others. Together, we are drawing a line”, he added.
Over the past few years, QNET has actively undertaken several public awareness initiatives in Ghana to help communities identify and avoid fraudulent schemes. These include media engagements, educational outreach, and stakeholder collaborations. Most notably, in August 2024, QNET launched the nationwide “QNET Against Scams” campaign, which utilized radio, television, social media, and billboards to alert the public to common scam tactics and empower them to recognize red flags. These sustained efforts reflect QNET’s ongoing dedication to education and transparency.
“Over the last two years, we have done everything within our power to combat this issue. But as a private company, there is a limit to how far our voice can carry. That is why today matters. Because today, we have EOCO standing beside us.” added Ramya Chandrasekaran, Chief Communications Officer of QI Group, the parent company of QNET.
“With EOCO’s reach, authority, and investigative powers, and our commitment to transparency and education, we now have the collective strength to take this fight to the next level. Together, we can disrupt these criminal networks. Together, we can warn and educate communities in even the most remote corners of Ghana. Together, we can give victims a voice and potential victims a shield.”
In 2024-2025, QNET has aided various West African law enforcement agencies in prosecuting over 150 people for brand misuse-related fraud, and helped nearly 400 victims recover funds or return to their home countries.
Public Vigilance and Reporting
QNET and EOCO urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities or scams. If the public encounters individuals that are promoting job offers or overseas travel opportunities in the name of QNET, they can report it through:

The presentation event, held at AUCB’s Adabraka campus, drew high-profile attendees including the university’s founder, Mr. Kojo Yankah; members of the AUCB Council; representatives of the Adabraka Tukai family, custodians of the university’s land; and international guests from the Hyatt Group in the United States, who received special recognition for their support.
Unlike traditional theses, the AUCB Capstone Project is a six-credit, year-long initiative that challenges students to apply their academic training—spanning Business Administration, Development Communication, Journalism, Strategic Communication, and Visual Communication—to real-world challenges and opportunities.
“From Classroom Theory to Community Impact”
Vice Chancellor Professor Abeiku Blankson, addressing the gathering, emphasized AUCB’s mission to produce graduates who are not only academically sound but also socially conscious and practically prepared.
“This is more than a final year project—it’s a bold statement that education must translate into action. Our students are graduating with solutions, not just certificates,” he stated.
This year’s projects featured a wide range of impactful ideas. One standout initiative focused on leveraging social media to promote resistant dyed fabrics crafted by artisans at the Accra Centre—an effort aimed at boosting digital presence, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing economic empowerment.
Other projects tackled themes such as environmental sustainability, rebranding of local enterprises, and the integration of artificial intelligence for community benefit—highlighting AUCB’s interdisciplinary and practical academic approach.
Building Local Roots and Global Partnerships
The event also spotlighted AUCB’s strong community and international ties. The presence of the Adabraka Tukai family reinforced the university’s local partnerships, while the participation of the Hyatt Group symbolized AUCB’s growing global engagement—even amidst health-related challenges.
Nurturing the Next Generation of Innovators
The Capstone Project has become a signature program at AUCB, nurturing students who think critically, act creatively,
and engage deeply with real-world issues. It embodies the university’s vision of transforming academic learning into tools for national development and global relevance.

The Regional General Manager for QNET, Biram Fall and Global Compliance Officer, Mrs. Naana Quartey took turns clarifying issues ranging from the news on the arrest of 44 Cameroonians to media publications about victims of travel and employment scams.
QNET STRONGLY DISSOCIATES ITSELF FROM THE ARREST OF 44 CAMEROONIANS
Stated by Mr. Fall: “We are aware that some Cameroonians who were allegedly involved in internet fraud and scam, have been arrested by the police. According to the statement released by the police, they were lured to Ghana from Cameroon, on the promise of securing employment opportunities. Clearly, this is a case of individuals who acted on their own volition to scam other people using employment opportunities as a bait. QNET has nothing to do with this unlawful behaviour; they were not acting on behalf of the company.”
SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEOS OF ALLEGED “QNET OFFICES”
Mr. Fall further clarified: “QNET does not operate multiple offices across different locations in Ghana. Rather, QNET has established a QNET Training Centre in Ghana and it is operated by our partner, Bosomtwi Industries, a registered Ghanaian company. It is located at East Legon in Accra and it is the only official QNET address in Ghana. We have hosted several media briefings and events there, so, a lot of journalists are familiar with the QNET Training Centre.”
OVERSEAS JOB AND VISA SCAMS AND OTHER CASES
QNET said it was not an employment, travel or visa agency and does not promise anyone employment opportunities or work and travel visas to any country. The company warned that certain individuals exploit others with the false promise of overseas employment, and they should be reported to QNET or the law enforcement agencies.
QNET SUPPORTING LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO FIGHT SCAMS
QNET has helped over 250 victims report fraudulent activities tied to the misuse of QNET’s name. Additionally, in 2024, the company initiated more than 42 legal cases across Sub-Saharan Africa to address this issue.
QNET’S PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN
In Ghana, QNET has implemented a 360-degree public and media education campaign called QNET Against Scams, to help people understand its business model better, get familiar with its products, and to be able to identify and report scam. Across the country, QNET used billboards, radio, television, social media and online news portals to disseminate anti-scam messages to Ghanaians.
Mr. Fall concluded by reminding the media about the salient truth about QNET and its business model and encouraged them to include same in their publications about the company: “We are using this opportunity to reiterate that QNET is not an employment or travel agency. We do not promise anyone that we can secure visas or jobs for them in any country. We are deeply alarmed that miscreants have been misusing our name to make false promises to vulnerable individuals. We condemn their actions and warn the public not to fall for such scams. We also urge the public to reach out to us through our hotline if they are approached by people claiming to represent QNET and offer them jobs or visas or any such misleading claims. We will help them with taking legal action against the perpetrators.”
QNET encourages the public to verify any business claims through its official website (www.qnet.net) or report suspicious activities via WhatsApp (+233 256 630 005) or email ([email protected])

Officially inaugurated in 1955, the Mohammed V Sports Complex has hosted the largest sporting events and tournaments in the Kingdom. A true land of sport and athletes, the Kingdom is increasingly establishing itself as a leader in the sporting field, not only in Africa but also internationally.
Indeed, Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is pursuing a highly ambitious policy to develop its sports infrastructure as part of its preparations for hosting the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
This proactive policy aims to meet the international standards required by FIFA and CAF, while consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a continental, regional, and global sports hub. In this regard, Morocco continues to invest heavily in its sports infrastructure to host major international events such as the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.
Thus, numerous stadiums, sports complexes, and training facilities are currently under construction or renovation to meet the most demanding international standards.
These include the construction of the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane, the reconstruction of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, and the expansion and upgrading of the Grand Stade de Tangier, in accordance with FIFA specifications. Ongoing work also involves the rehabilitation of the major stadiums in Fez, Marrakech, and Agadir, to bring them into compliance, initially with the CAF specifications, and then, in a second phase, with the FIFA specifications. Studies for this second phase have been completed, and work will begin immediately after the 2025 AFCON.
Finally, ongoing work also involves the reconstruction of the Al Barid Stadium and the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
