A newly launched non-profit organization, ‘Gadgets4Ghana’ (G4G), has embarked on a mission to bridge the digital divide in Ghana by providing electronic learning resources to underprivileged children and young adults.

The organization’s donation drive aims to collect new and refurbished electronic gadgets, including laptops, iPads, tablets, and phones, to distribute to those in need.

Gadgets4Ghana, SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, Laptops Founded by a group of students from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, G4G operates on the philosophy that “every child deserves a chance.”

The organization seeks to empower young people across Ghana by enhancing digital literacy and providing access to essential electronic gadgets.

Highlighting the broader impact of G4G’s work, co-founder Kofi Fynn stated that, “We’re not just giving out gadgets; we’re opening doors to knowledge, opportunities, and a brighter future.”

Nigel Nettey, one of the project initiators also added that, “We live in a time where technology is not just a privilege but a necessity for learning and personal development. Unfortunately, many children in Ghana are left behind because they lack access to these resources. At G4G, we are determined to change that.”

G4G has partnered with local schools, community centers, and organizations including the Akua Kuenyehia Foundation (AKF) to identify areas of greatest need and ensure that every donation makes a tangible impact.

Space Technics Systems, a leading IT Consultancy firm founded by Rudolf Baah, is also partnering with G4G to refurbish used devices, and will do this on a pro bono basis as their contribution to this cause.

The organization, therefore, welcomes donations of both new and refurbished electronic gadgets, as well as cash contributions to support the repair, refurbishment, and distribution of donated devices.

The Principal of SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, Mrs. Eliz Dadson, praised the founders, saying, “The idea that young people think of other young people who are less privileged and take action and set up a charity that allows people to donate gadgets for the benefit of others is such an incredible mission.”

She added that the project will help a lot of students especially in this era of online learning.

She also pledged the school’s unflinching support to the founders to ensure that the project succeeds.

With a mission to bridge the digital divide, G4G is already igniting hope among communities that previously saw technology as out of reach.

The organization calls on individuals, corporations, and institutions to join the cause and support its efforts to empower underprivileged youth in Ghana.

The G4G initiative was put together by Kofi Fynn, Nigel Nettey, Maame Adwoa Owusu-Brefo, and Joshua Agbey all students of SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College and Kwamina Fynn from Ghana International School (GIS).
