WAMPOC/WAMPEX 2024: Otumfuo Osei Tutu II To Grace This Year’s West Africa’s Premier Mining and Power Conference
The West African Mining and Power Conference and Exhibition (WAMPOC/WAMPEX) 2024 is scheduled to take place from June 5-7, 2024 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This year’s theme, “The Mining and Power Hub: Driving Sustainable Investment Opportunities in West Africa,” highlights the critical role of the mining and power sectors in fostering sustainable economic development and investment in the region.
H.R.M. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, will grace the conference as the Special Guest of Honour, alongside the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, and ECOWAS Ministers from Nigeria, Liberia, Mali, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, and Togo, among others.
The conference is expected to attract over 1,500 attendees, including industry leaders, investors, government officials, and stakeholders from across the globe. More than 200 exhibitors will showcase the latest advancements in mining and power technologies, products, and services.
Renowned industry experts and thought leaders will participate in panel discussions and presentations, covering critical topics such as critical minerals development, sustainable mining practices, renewable energy integration, and investment opportunities.
Announcing the event, the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Dr. Ign. Suleiman Koney explained that the objectives of WAMPOC/WAMPEX 2024 include promoting sustainable investment, facilitating knowledge sharing, strengthening partnerships, and showcasing innovations in the mining and power sectors.
“The event is not just an exhibition but a strategic forum that brings together key players to address challenges and opportunities in the mining and power sectors. It serves as a vital platform for networking, facilitating partnerships that can lead to significant economic benefits for the West African region,” he added.
He encouraged all stakeholders, including industry professionals, investors, policymakers, and members of the media, to participate actively in WAMPOC/WAMPEX 2024 to drive the sustainable development agenda forward and ensure that West Africa remains a competitive and attractive destination for mining and power investments.
