UWR: K. Zorre Properties commissions 60 acres of land for nurses’ residence

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Mid-wives Association(GRNMA) in the Upper West Region in partnership with K. Zorre Properties, a real estate agency have secured about 60 acres of land to develop nurses court (residence) for its members.

Speaking during the commissioning of the land at Wa Sombo,Managing  Director of K. Zorre properties Cyrus Kwaku Zorre says K. Zorreh properties partnered with the GRNMA to help members of the Association to acquire litigation free land in order to build their own houses.

He added that K. Zorre owes it as a responsibility to get its clients litigation free properties stressing that the government is challenged in getting affordable housing projects for its workers due to economic hardship hence the need for them to partner institutions to acquire their own land.

Meanwhile, Dr. Danmieh Pungayiri, Upper West Regional Director of Health Services expressed his satisfaction over the ability of K.Zorre and GRNMA in materializing the beautiful idea of securing litigation free land for Nurses and Mid-wives to build their own houses.

He urged the Nurses and Mid-wives who are yet to enroll on to the initiative to quickly do that stressing that, the service will be prepared to guarantee a loan facility for members of GRNMA who would want to develop their own land but bemoaned that most nurses get the loan and used them on impulse buys instead of using them to build houses for themselves.

He commended members of the Association for sticking together adding that the GRNMA is among some few other associations that have not been splited, urging leadership of the Association to always as a matter of urgency resolve grievances of members in order not to record incidents of members splitting to form different associations.

On her part, President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Mid-wives Association, Madam Perpetual Ampofoh revealed that, about 103 members in the region have already enrolled on to the initiative urging the others to also take advantage of it.

She again stated that K. Zorre is charged with the responsibility of providing water, electricity and 24/7 security at the court.

She however urged Executive Members of the GRNMA to always visit the site from time to time to ensure that the land is not encroached.

Madam Perpetual again called on the Members to abide by the COVID-19 safety protocols in order to avoid contracting any of the COVID-19 variance.

The National President in furtherance indicated that, the Association is working tirelessly to ensure that all nurses who are supposed to be paid the COVID-19 incentive package for their role played as frontline health service providers, stressing that those who haven’t been paid the incentive should still pose confidence in the GRNMA as it is committed in fighting for their course.
