MTN Business is embarking on a comprehensive support initiative for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana, aimed at bridging the gaps in capacity building, digital transformation, and access to funds.
As part of the SME Month celebrations, under the theme ‘Business done smarter, faster and better’, MTN Business is offering skills development training to participating SMEs, in partnership with SMEGA and other financial institutions to provide access to credit facilities and soft loans through MTN’s MoMo service.
According to Mohammed Abubakari-Sidick, Senior Manager of Business Sales at MTN, the initiative is motivated by market research and stakeholder engagements, which revealed the significant challenges faced by SMEs in the country.
As the engine of growth, SMEs provide employment opportunities and contribute greatly to the country’s GDP. Therefore, MTN Business is committed to providing them with cutting-edge digital solutions to support their activities and spur growth,” Sidick explained.
We believe that working with these SMEs will greatly impact SME development in the country,” he said.
