Sanitation Ministry evacuates dump sites at Kade

The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources in collaboration with the Kwaebiberim Municipal Assembly on Monday begun the evacuation of heaped rubbish at Kade, Asuom and Nkwantanang to a final disposal site at Adankrono in the Eastern Region.

The exercise, which is taking place across the country, is line with the President’s vision of making the country one if the cleanest country in the sub-region.

Speaking with the MCE, Seth Antwi Boasiako, he commended the President for his bold decision to evacuate the rubbish which was posing serious health challenges to the residents.

 The exercise will bring relief to the people who have suffered and complained over the years”

He mentioned that he has agreed with the chiefs and other opinion leaders of the three communities to allocate the cleared land to artisans to develop the land into to garages like that of Komkompe in Accra and Magazine in Kumasi.

We will also plant trees in some of the areas as part of the reclamation and beautification of the town”

He urged the inhabitants to desist from indiscriminate littering and disposal of rubbish especially in this raining season to avoid the outbreak of cholera but practice proper sanitation to keep the municipality clean and the resident healthy.
