The Northern Regional Police Commander, COP Timothy Yoosa Bonga, has hinted that no police personnel in the region has been infected by Covid-19.
He explained that this is due to the regular disinfection exercise carried out by Zoomlion Ghana Limited as well as the strict adherence to the Covid-19 safety protocols by all the service personnel.
The Covid-19 situation is ok here. No personnel have been infected. Thanks to the regular disinfection exercise undertaken by the Service and its partners,” he stressed.
He observed that the regular disinfection has also given confidence and hope to the police personnel to undertake their duties with sureness.
COP Bonga made this known in an interview during the third phase of disinfection exercise of police installations in the region in Tamale on Tuesday February 9, 2021. The places disinfected included the regional police headquarters, divisional HQ, Sagnarigu police post, UDS police post among others.

He stressed that the Police is enforcing to the latter the Covid-19 law and therefore urged the citizens to be law abiding and protect lives.
He noted that apart from the issuance of warning letters to offenders, the Police is also engaged in sensitization of the public on the importance to observed the preventive protocols
We have been engaging in sensitization at the vantage points including the market place, we also met with transport unions to encourage them to observe the protocols,” he mentioned.
According to the Zoomlion Northern Regional Manager, Peter Dawuni, his team is prepared to disinfect all the 10 police stations and other installations within the region.
He assured that the regular disinfection exercise has and continue to contribute to curbing the spread of the virus within the country.
It is our conviction that the spraying is helping to fight the virus. Adding that, the use of the chemicals as approved by the World Health Organization is the surety way to control the spread of the virus,”. He remarked
