NKD STYLE Partners with Zoomlion and Buz Stop Boys for Achimota Clean-Up Campaign

NKD STYLE Creation, in collaboration with waste management giant Zoomlion and the Buz Stop Boys, has launched a large-scale clean-up initiative from Achimota Overhead to Achimota New Station.

According to the creative director of NKD STYLE, Alfred Nii Kwei Akrong, the collaboration aims to enhance sanitation and mitigate flooding in the city.

To him, it is critical to ensure that, communities are flood free as the rainy season begins hence the need for such clean up exercise.

The clean-up drive, which commenced at Achimota New Station and extended to Achimota Overhead, was spearheaded by NKD STYLE’s Director, supported by Zoomlion’s technical expertise, logistics, skip trucks, shovels, and wheelbarrows.

Interacting with the media, Akrong explained that, it is the responsibility of every individual to ensure that, his or her surrounding are clean.

As citizens, it is our sole duty to tidy up our surroundings and ensure our gutters and environment are free from filth to avoid any disaster during this rainy season”,he stressed.

For government, he called on relevant agencies and ministries to ensure the numerous laws and policies relating to sanitation are enforced and that, any one who violent such laws should be dealt with.

This he believes will instill discipline and ensure that, individuals keep their surroundings and environment.

Alfred Nii Kwei Akrong also used the occasion to express his gratitude to Zoomlion for their assistance and urged the public to actively contribute to maintaining a clean environment.

On his part, Heneba Kojo Sarfo, leader of the Buzstop Boys, appreciated the efforts of NKD Clothing for initiating such exercise and expressed the group willingness and readiness to partner any institutions or organisations that aims to champion sanitation in the country.

We participated because we believe that, it is a shared responsibility of every individual to ensure the environment is clean and flood free as the rains approaches”, he noted.

According to him, it is important for how we dress decently to reflects in how keep our surroundings.

Meanwhile as the rainy season approaches, the waste management giant, Zoomlion has urged Ghanaians to refrain from indiscriminate waste disposal into drains.
