The District Chief Executive of Kadjebi district in the Oti region, Honourable Maxwell Kofi Asiedu, has said government’s disinfection exercise as a way of battling the deadly coronavirus pandemic has been very helpful to the people of Kadjebi township and the entire nation at large.
He made this statement on Friday morning during a disinfection exercise by a team from the Zoomlion Ghana Limited.
Speaking to the media, the DCE noted that the disinfection exercise has not only helped in the flight against Covid-19 but has also tackled other issues expecaially in the market places.
“This fumigation exercise in actual fact has been helpful. Aside its fight against the Covid-19 virus, it has also eradicated other harmful insects. Most of our markets here are filled with mice and other insects which feed on foodstuffs, and we know how harmful such foodstuffs could be when consumed,” he stated.
He added that “The disinfection would drive away these mice and insects, giving us a very neat and healthy market environment,” stated the DCE.
According to the DCE, the disinfection exercise coupled with a strict adherenc of the Covid-19 protocols are what have kept the district from the Covid-19 virus. He noted that no Covid-19 case has so far been recorded among the people in the district.
The Assemblyman of Dubonku Electoral Area in the Kadjebi district, Honourable Isaac Abavon, noted in an interview with journalists that the people of the area are grateful to the government and the Zoomlion for embarking on such an exercise for the third time especially when recorded cases keep increasing in the country.

The Zoomlion disinfection team continued the exercise in Poase Cement market, Dodi-Papaase market, Ahamasu market, Dodo Amanfrom market, wawaso market and all other public places in the district.
This third phase of the disinfection exercise by Zoomlion Ghana Limited is part of government’s effort in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic which taken new waves in some other countries. The exercise is said to cover all the other regions across the country.
