The Global Women Development Promoters (GLOWDEP) joined the rest of the World to mark Global Menstrual Hygiene Day at the Special Needs Basic School at Mafi Avakpedome -Adidome in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.
Other schools that benefited included the Girls Model school, Mafi Dadogboe Basic School, DELALI school and GLOSERVE school.
The activities included Adolescent Reproductive Health Education, radio discussions on Gender Violence and Parental care (with emphasis on care for the Girl Child).
In all about 500 girls and 70 boys benefited directly from the programme.
Over ten thousand (10,000) people across the disttict benefited through radio broadcast and discussions.
‘Sanitary pad Banks’ were established in Special School for the blind, the Girls Model School and the Adolescent Friendly Centre.
