The Eastern Region will host the second edition of the 2024 Regional Townhall Meetings and Exhibitions on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The event is scheduled to take place at the Centre for National Culture in Koforidua, serving as a crucial platform to highlight the achievements of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration.
Organized by the Ministry of Information, these townhall meetings are designed to foster citizen engagement and promote inclusive governance.
The series began in the Greater Accra Region on August 6, 2024, at the Teachers’ Hall, where government officials engaged with the public, responded to questions, and provided updates on developmental projects. During the Greater Accra event, Regional Minister Daniel Titus Glover, Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, and Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar highlighted key government initiatives, including efforts to stabilize the economy and enhance the region’s infrastructure.
The upcoming Koforidua meeting will continue this engagement process, offering residents the opportunity to interact directly with government officials, including Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong, Deputy Minister for Finance Dr. Alex Ampaabeng, and Presidential Advisor on Health Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, among other key stakeholders. Participants will have the chance to ask questions on a range of issues, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure development, while also exploring various government projects on display.
This event in the Eastern Region is part of a nationwide series that will cover all 16 regions, culminating in a national forum where feedback and recommendations from all regions will be consolidated and presented to the government for consideration.
The Ministry of Information views these townhall meetings as essential for bringing governance closer to the people, ensuring that government actions align with the needs and expectations of citizens throughout the country.
