Achimota traders laud govt over disinfection exercise

Sellers and market executives of the Achimota market in the Okaikoi North constituency have praised the government and Zoomlion Ghana Limited for embarking on the third phase of the disinfection exercise which is geared towards the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Madam Charity Dorning, an executive member of the Achimota market, in an interview with Journalists on Thursday morning, said it is good the government has decided to undertake such an exercise again, which she believed can help in the fight against the Covid-19.

She added that the government should make market disinfection a habitual exercise even after our fight against the Covid-19 to help fight other viruses and bacterias that cause other illnesses.

If the chemical used in this disinfection exercise kills all viruses, then I think the government should keep repeating the exercise over and over again. This is because it can also help kill other harmful bacterias aside the Covid-19 virus,” Madam Charity added.

In Madam Charity Dorning’s view, this act by government has reiterated the fact that the fight against Covid-19 is not over yet, hence, encouraged all other market women not to let down their guard in observing the Covid-19 safety protocols outlined by the government.
