The Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) will on August 12, 2021, hold a career fair for job seekers who wish to join the accountancy profession.
The fair would offer the job seekers the opportunity to establish professional relationships virtually, apply for live vacancies, discuss potential job opportunities and gain expert advice for career searching.
The Director of ACCA Africa, Jamil Ampomah, commenting on the fair, said “here at ACCA we’re attuned to the challenges facing many of our future members and members across the African continent.
In numerous countries, there are economic uncertainties caused by the pandemic, and our own Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) speaks to this ongoing uncertainty. But we know that hundreds of companies are still in need of ACCA talent, the finance professionals who can steer organisations of all sizes to sustainable recovery,” he stated.
He said the virtual career fair would provide employers with an opportunity to showcase and advertise their available job opportunities, and also to engage with new talent and future employees in real time.
He noted that previous global virtual careers fairs have resulted in over 3,000 job opportunities and 60,000 job views via the ACCA Careers job site, leading to a staggering 21,000 unique job applications.’
