Acting Ghana Gas CEO: We’ll use gas to power 24-hour economy

The Acting CEO of Ghana National Gas Company, Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey, has highlighted the strategic use of gas to support the 24-hour economy initiative by boosting sectors such as agro-processing, transportation, construction, and manufacturing.

He also emphasized the importance of safely and reliably operating and transporting gas to customers in line with Ghana Gas’ vision and mission.

“Health, Safety, Environment and Security matters are already ingrained in the values and organizational culture and there will be the need to keep these matters entrenched further.”

The Acting CEO of Ghana National Gas Company, Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey, shared his vision during his first meeting with the company’s management, on Monday, February 10, 2025.

He emphasized the critical need for a stable gas supply to key industries such as cocoa processing for agriculture and gas-powered railways for transportation as part of efforts to support the 24-hour economy initiative.

Dr. Lartey also highlighted the importance of expediting projects like the LPG Bottling Plant, which he described as essential for job creation and economic sustenance.

Outlining Ghana Gas’ pivotal role in achieving this vision, he stressed the need for enhanced professionalism, increased productivity, and improved technical efficiency among staff.

He further expressed a strong commitment to continuing and strengthening engagements with project-affected communities, promising to build on existing support initiatives.

The Acting CEO expressed confidence in the diverse expertise and professional backgrounds of the management and entire staff, urging them to fully align with the company’s vision for growth and national development.
