
Fifty-two outstanding Senior High School (SHS) students from across Ghana have converged in Accra for the 2025 President’s Independence Day Awards.
This annual event, sponsored by Nestlé Ghana Limited, recognizes and rewards exceptional young students aged 14 to 19 from various regions.
The 52 awardees, selected based on their outstanding academic performance in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), comprise 32 students from public schools, 16 from private schools, and four students with hearing and visual impairments.
As part of the awards program, the students visited the presidency and the Ministry of Education on Monday, March 3. They were given a warm welcome and had the opportunity to interact with government officials and education stakeholders.
The students will also tour the Nestlé Ghana Limited factory in Tema and the University of Ghana, Legon campus on Tuesday, March 4. This will give them a firsthand experience of the manufacturing process and the opportunities available in the industry.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre. Each awardee will receive a plaque, certificate, a laptop, and a full year’s supply of Nestlé products.
Deborah Kwablah, Nestlé Ghana Limited’s Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, emphasized the importance of inspiring students to work hard academically and become responsible adults.
Education provides equal opportunities and is the most effective way to transform both individuals and nations,” she said.
She highlighted that Nestlé Ghana Limited is committed to supporting the education sector and promoting academic excellence among young Ghanaians.

The President’s Independence Day Awards is an annual event that aims to recognize and reward outstanding students who have demonstrated academic excellence and exceptional leadership skills.
The event is part of the government’s efforts to promote education and encourage young people to strive for excellence.
The awards ceremony will be attended by government officials, education stakeholders, and representatives from Nestlé Ghana Limited. It promises to be an exciting and inspiring event that will celebrate the achievements of these exceptional students.
